How to show battery percentage on iPhone

Go to Settings > Battery and turn on Battery Percentage. The number appears inside the battery icon at the top of the screen.

How to do it

  1. Open Settings > Battery.

  2. Turn Battery Percentage on.

  3. Look at the status bar. The number sits in the battery icon.

While the phone is charging, the number is still the charge level, not an estimate of time remaining. Low Power Mode is the other switch on this same screen.

Questions people ask

Can I see the percentage without turning this on?

Yes. Swipe down from the top-right corner to open Control Center. The percentage shows there.

Does the number show while charging?

Yes. It's still the charge level, not the time left.
