How to use virtual desktops in Windows 11

Press Windows + Ctrl + D to make a new desktop, and Windows + Ctrl + Left or Right arrow to switch between them.

How to do it

  1. Press Windows + Ctrl + D to create a desktop.

  2. Open the apps that belong there.

  3. Press Windows + Ctrl + Left arrow or Right arrow to switch.

  4. Press Windows + Tab if you want to see the desktops and drag a window from one to another.

Desktops are cleared when you restart. They are a layout for the day, not a saved project.
