How to open the emoji panel in Windows 11

Click in a text field and press Windows + period (.). The panel has emoji, plus a symbols tab for arrows, currency and punctuation like the em dash.

How to do it

  1. Click in a text field.

  2. Press the Windows key + period.

  3. Pick the emoji tab, or the symbol tab for arrows, currency, and punctuation.

  4. Press Esc to close the panel.

The symbol tab is the useful one. It is faster than searching the web for how to type an em dash.
