How to do it
On a Pixel, open Settings > System > Gestures > One-handed mode and turn it on.
Swipe down near the bottom edge of the screen. The page shifts down.
Tap the upper area, or swipe up, to restore it.
On a Samsung phone, look in Settings > Advanced features > One-handed mode. If neither path exists, search Settings for One-handed mode.
This moves the screen. It does not shrink the keyboard. Gboard has its own one-handed layout inside the keyboard settings if that is what you wanted.
