How to do it
Open Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap.
Choose Double Tap or Triple Tap.
Pick an action. Flashlight, Camera, Screenshot, and Shortcut are the ones that earn their place.
Leave Settings and tap the back of the phone, firmly, near the camera.
A light tap is ignored on purpose, so it does not fire in a bag. If a new case seems to break it, tap harder before you turn the feature off.
Questions people ask
Which iPhones have Back Tap?
iPhone 8 and later, on iOS 14 or newer.
Why doesn't Back Tap work with my case?
Thick cases soften the tap. Tap harder near the camera before you give up on it.
Can Back Tap run a shortcut?
Yes. Shortcuts from the Shortcuts app show up in the action list.
