How to do it
Open System Settings > Accessibility.
Click Display.
Turn Reduce motion on.
There is a matching switch on iPhone under Settings > Accessibility > Motion. They are separate. Turning one on does not turn on the other.
Questions people ask
Does Reduce motion make the Mac faster?
It can feel quicker because animations are shorter, but it doesn't speed up the computer.
Is there the same setting on iPhone?
Yes, in Settings > Accessibility > Motion. It's a separate switch.
